I was working with Filemaker server 10, and filemaker 9 client. I was able to see the server from the client "connect to remote" but the databases were not listed. When I googled it, I saw a few articles referencing the server.pem file, but I ignored them, since I wasn't using SSL. Bad move. The stupid server.pem file was the problem. To fix it, I went to the client I had installed on the server (which could see the databases) and copied the server.pem from it, and replaced the server.pem on my client that didn't work... Everything came up Milhouse.
The server.pem is found in the client application folder. c:\program files\filemaker\server.pem
